This family owned Wyoming dude and working cattle ranch located on the magnificent, pine covered eastern slopes of the Bighorn Mountains in northeastern Wyoming. Just eighteen miles west of Sheridan, the Ranch consists of 7,000 acres of beautiful open country with rolling hills, grassy meadows and hidden valleys. Twisting processions of cottonwood and pine trees mark the course of tumbling streams that roll out of the mountains.
Eatons’ Ranch Horseback Riding: We offer our guests the unique opportunity to ride one of our 220 horses unescorted with the permission of the Ranch. This allows guests the remarkable freedom to fully explore this beautiful 7,000 acres of country. Guests can ride out from our Wyoming Dude Ranch twice a day Monday through Friday, choosing among morning, afternoon and evening rides. We also have all-day rides into the Bighorn National Forest as well as breakfast and dinner rides. Rides are a bit more limited on weekends; only morning and afternoon rides on Saturday, and on Sunday- only a morning ride.Wranglers are always available to guide rides and offer instruction.
Overnight Pack Trips: Trips in the Bighorn National Forest provide another horseback riding adventure for our guests. The Ranch supplies horses, guides, wrangler-cook and all of the necessary equipment. Plans for a pack trip can be made after your arrival at the Ranch and are offered Tuesday through Thursday conditions permitting. To allow for overnight pack trips and all day rides on the national forest we operate under a special use permit with the Bighorn National Forest. Eatons’ Ranch is an equal opportunity provider.
Exercise Room: The exercise room(s) is located in Pike #13, 14, and 15. There you will find a treadmill, elliptical machine, dumbbell weights, stability balls and mats for floor work and stretching.
Swimming Pool: The Ranch’s 40 X 70-foot pool is within walking distance from your cabin. There is also a hot tub available for guest use; soak those tired muscles after a ride!
Eatons’ Ranch Fishing: Guests can fish in the pristine mountain waters of Wolf Creek, other nearby streams and rivers, or our own bass pond. Our Wyoming dude ranch offers experts as well as novices the chance to catch rainbows, brookies, browns and large-mouth bass. You can bring your own equipment or use our gear and find flies and tackle in our Wolf Creek Fly Shop.
Off-Site Guided Fishing:For guided day trips on the Bighorn River, we recommend Kingfishers Lodge in Ft. Smith, MT (1 1/2 hours from Wolf). Rates are $450 per day and includes guided float trip, lunch and flies. Fishing licenses and gratuities are not included. For more information, please visit their website: www.bighornkingfisher.com. Archery & Trap Shooting: Eatons’ Ranch now offers archery & trap shooting. One round of trap shooting, (25 shots), is included in each guests’ stay at Eatons’ Ranch. Each additional round is $10/person. Archery & Trap shooting is available Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Archery at 1:30-3:00 followed by Trap Shooting 3pm-5pm– limit 8 people per outing.
Eatons’ Ranch Other Entertainment: Wranglers frequently gather at Gentry Field for jackpot team roping or just for a little practice. We host a weekly dance in Howard Hall, and during the rest of the week the Hall is the center of activity for the young set. The Main House provides the perfect setting for various social gatherings or to play cards and games. The Apartment Bar located in the Main House is open daily from 4:00-10:00pm. The ranch family hosts a nightly cocktail hour in the Apartment Bar from 5-6pm.
