What Kind of Jobs Are Available at Dude Ranches?
All of our dude ranches offer different employment opportunities and qualifications. Check each website to find specific jobs available for the 2025 season:
Wranglers
Since horseback riding is a mainstay at our dude ranches, we generally always need wranglers. To apply for this position, you must have extensive horsemanship skills. Duties include guiding guests on the trails, providing lessons, and caring for horses. Many ranches require you to submit a video showcasing your riding skills and abilities.
Housekeepers
Housekeepers are responsible for keeping cabins and common areas clean, doing laundry, and providing courteous service to guests. Applicants should be able to work on their feet for long periods, work independently, and have good time management skills.
Kitchen Staff
To help make our kitchens run smoothly, we need the help of chefs, assistant cooks, and waitstaff. Waitstaff is responsible for things like setting tables, waiting tables, cleaning, and dishwashing. Chefs and assistant cooks are responsible for preparing, cooking meals, and maintaining an organized kitchen.
Activities Guide
Many of our ranches offer guided activities like fly fishing, hiking, and children’s programs. If you have specific knowledge or training in any of these areas, these are the positions for you!
Maintenance
Maintenance covers everything from electrical to plumbing and general ranch upkeep. Basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems knowledge is recommended for these kinds of jobs.
